i won!!

so yesterday i was at work all day, with no available access to the internet. then i had to go conduct volleyball practice, since our first game is monday and we've only had a week of practice. (i am still feeling the soreness in my shoulders and legs by the way. geesh i'm getting old!) then i had to go visit my sister and see her new college dorm.

it was a lot of running, but it still didn't keep my mind from floating to the subject of the date. september 5th. why was this day important you ask? well it was to be the day they were announcing the winners of the Black Weblog Awards. i couldn't take it. i texted my friend and asked him to check...and they still weren't posted at 5pm.

but alas! by the time i got home and got in front of my computer to check, i had received seven emails, ten myspace messages, and all sorts of other communication congratulating me on my win for my fiction blog, Life and Times of Ata Nafia. you can imagine my excitement.

there were two winners in each category: the popular vote, which was determined by actual ballots cast, and the judges' vote, which was obviously the weighted results of a panel of judges. at first i was torn, because i didn't know how to take the fact that i won the judges and not the popular vote. but, after reading the criteria for judging and seeing both the winners in each category, i must say i agreed with the judges decisions (who they say was based on a critical look at content, design, flavor, etc....) in most cases. except Best New Blog because Blogxilla definitely deserves that...and he won it with the popular vote.

so anyhoo, i'm happy! excited! and thankful to the judges who took time to read my thoughts (and not laugh), and to all of you who voted for me and showed support! new chapter will be up today!
